Sunrise and sunset at the lagoon on a few dates. In June the sun barely sets; in December plan the drive inside a four-hour window.
| Date | Sunrise | Sunset | Daylight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21 June | 02:33 | 23:38 | 21.1 h |
| 15 March | 07:26 | 19:01 | 11.6 h |
| 15 November | 09:30 | 16:09 | 6.6 h |

In summer the boat departures and the café are busiest around the middle of the day, so arrive early or in the evening if your plan allows. Low sun in the morning and evening also lights the ice from the side, which helps on Diamond Beach.
Seasons: icelagoon.is, iceguide.is, fjallsarlon.is and the Viator listings. Daylight calculated for the lagoon's position (Iceland keeps UTC all year). 4 October 2026.
